IL2 AIR COMBAT! Attention all pilots...man your planes!

Great result Von. Always satisfying when you bring a damaged plane home. Although the ground crew might not like the extra work.

After Action Review (AAR):

Easy takeoff after engine start despite the hot, blowing sand.  The Beau really takes off easy and flies wonderfully!  Rounded up my lads, Yellow Flight, then straight to target with no trouble.  Keeping a wary eye on enemy float planes (their rear gunners have magic bullets as I know from previous experience with them) I quickly spotted the target, ordered my boys into formation, then dove in and let loose my rockets...all direct hits and yet experienced NO results of destruction!  WTF?

Though amazing bad luck and feeling cheated, I shook off my bad mood as my lads hit and started a fire on the ship.  Anyway, choosing secondary targets of opportunity, I winged over towards land, spotted a Hun AAA balloon and flamed it, then bagged an enemy bird and another gun.  Feeling better I called my lads and headed home!  Ha!

Good landing but must have taken damage without knowing it because my engines wouldn't rev down...causing me to overextend the runway.  I got them shut down and finally rolled to a stop but once again hit a bump in the dirt and nosed over causing some prop damage!  G'ah!  Blimey!

I'll hear from the Group Leader about that!  But perhaps he'll go light on me, eh?  I did do some good damage to the enemy.
